Koto Izakaya Sushi & Robata in Richmond

My favourite go-to for late night! The late night menu at 9pm is so great. The servers are on point, so efficient, kitchen is fast. My favourites are the small donburis with tempura and any roll I'm feeling that day. I've since moved out of Richmond but Koto is definitely one of the places I miss the most.

Customer service is alright. Could be better but not terrible. What shines is their late night specials. Good deals for delicious sushi.My favourite would be the spicy salmon crunchy roll and the scallop roll.

The lady is actually pretty nice once you get to know her. Yes she might seem rude to others but just don't ask stupid questions & she good. Late night is SUPER GOOD!!!

Great late night sushi/ izakaya spot in Richmond

Nice japanese restaurant run by Chinese owners. The food is simple and the quality is decent for a late night sushi place in richmond. Dont go expecting the best food ever. They just have some basic sashimi, rolls, cones, and japanese appetizers. This place is more meant for drinking with friends on a random night.

The place has gone down hill since i first started going. The passion is no longer there.

The food here is amazing and fresh, the drinks are really good. Sometimes it's hard to find parking but it's totally worth it.

The service was okay. I don’t recommend scallops roll, the rice was too sticky. The black dragon roll was surprisingly good. One of the bad things is the waitress was grabbing snacks and eating ‘em while serving us. I’m not sure that should be a food safe problem or not.🤔

Great place for late night. Food is awesome and so is the price. They don't cheap out on the quantity during late night and is better than most AYCE places.Small little place in Richmond but top quality food with great prices.

Surprisingly rude old asian lady doesn't know what customer service is. She lied about when late night menu started and treated 2 friends of mine who came from out of town like they were a nuisance. After she tried a couple of obvious attempts at rushing us to order when the place wasn't even full, we just walked out. I'd rather starve than give them my money Lol.

I come here for late night sushi (after 9:30pm) once every week and they've never disappointed me. They sashimi are well portioned and fresh, mini don are great. Although there's almost always a 20min lineup, but it's worth it in my opinion.

Not great experience ... overworked waitstaff that made me move to allow more people to sit at bar. No one come to ask how my food was until I asked for Manager.Tuna wasn’t fresh and no Ahi Tuna, only albacore...

Support this local, family-owned business! Despite Covid they still keep their prices low and offer 10% off for pickup orders. Fresh sushi with good selection- exceptional spicy salmon roll and cones have a considerable amount of filling with good rice:fish ratio.

Nice and polite people however the food was not that good unfortunately but I'm sure they could learn how to do better if they work on it just being honest.!

Cheap, late night sushi in Richmond. It was pretty packed on a Friday night. Their aburi nigiri and chopped scallop nigiri were my favourites of the night. The uni ikura mini don is a pretty good deal, however I don't like the rice because it is a bit dry and lacks flavour. But it's, cheap so can't complain too much. They have a good variety of cooked and raw options. Give this place a try if you're looking for some late night eats.

Very good quality sushi. The LateNite special is what makes us go there. The hand cones are well portioned at a very fair price, also the Aburi sushi pieces are very good. It's a nice option to have a late dinner or go snack late night.

Really like the late night menu here. Lots of selection, great value. Unfortunately did not like the service, but what can you expect.

Sushi rice literally cooked to hell, got ignored for 5 minutes, rice bowl swimming in teriyaki sauce, but price wasn't tooooo awful. Decor is also okay.

Went here for some late night sushi. The service wasn't very friendly and the fish pieces looked like they mangled using some dull knives or something. The sushi rice was nice and flavorful but everything else was bleh. Would not come back.

Go for their late night menu!

Good pricing for night late although price gone up for a bit. The best is the chopped scallop cone , aburi Saba and the salmon skin salad.

The food is excellent and priced reasonably. The restaurant has great ambiance. Some of the servers are slightly unfriendly; they were unwilling to split the bill between my friend because we did not make the request before ordering. The great food and decor makes up for the service.

Very not impressed. I haven't been back to this store for a year now and wanted to try it out again. It was horrid. The food standard here has gone terribly bad. The sashimi was not fresh, it was small portion compare to other sushi restaurants in Richmond that charges the same. The grill is full of some weird sauce and the grill is served in soy sauce small plates. We ordered some rolls as well and the rolls were a total mess. The toppings looked like they were slapped onto of the roll without any care. The fillings inside the roll was falling apart. It was complete lack of effort and care. Will not come back ever again. I would recommend the owner to actually take some serious reflection in how they serve sushi compare to market standard.

I come here frequently for their late night menu, which is very reasonably priced and have a wide variety. Sushi and sashimi is decent but certainly not comparable to Japanese run sushi restaurants which have more fish selection and fresher ingredients. But decent place for late night sushi.

Food and ambience is good. Just a heads up that the parking is limited but you can park on Alexander road for free after 9pm.

This is my favourite sushi place to go to on the regular, so happy my friend introduced me to this place years ago... Get the salmon carpacio and the firecracker balls roll, you won't be disappointed 🍥🍣

We went there and ordered their deep fried chicken. The chicken was rotten and all 4 of us thought it smelled really weird. When we complaint to the owner, she didn’t seem to care at all.

My go to late night sushi place, a smaller place but very cozy and the food has always been great

Been frequenting this place since the late 90s. It has been revamped a couple times since then but food is just as good by Chef Michael. The late night menu is a sweet deal as usual. I used to frequent a lot more when i was younger in my partying days when Richmond was less crowded as parking is a major problem nowadays.

Cozy setting. Great presentation and textures. Friendly and attentive service. Good prices.

Decently priced for happy hour, slow service due to amount of staff.Food is yummy! Just go when your not in a rush and make sure not to expect amazing service, it's a in-and-out kinda place.
